Biography
Glenn was born on May 27th, 1908 in Warren county, Illinois.[1] His parents were Ross Sharp and Tina Rachael (Venible).
The 1910 US census shows Glenn was a month short of his 2nd birthday.[2] Glenn's father Ross was a grocery merchant.
The 1920 US census finds 12 year old Glenn and 2 brothers living in the family home in Monmouth, Illinois.[3] The boy's father Ross was the proprietor of a livery stable.
Glenn Sharp married Opal Cooley on January 26th, 1929 in Burlington, Iowa.[4]
Daughter Esther Vanessa Sharp was born in 1929.
The 1930 US census finds the young couple living in the home of Opal's parents in Monmouth, Illinois. Opal's father Wilson Cooley was a produce dealer, and owned the home valued at $3000. The home was recently outfitted with a new radio set, a very popular pastime. Glenn was a baker, and Opal was at home caring for their 1 year old daughter.
The 1940 US census shows 31 year old Glenn was living in Illinois with his wife Opal and 2 daughters.[5] He was working at a wholesale bakery and the family rented a home for $25 a month.
Glenn's wife Opal passed away in 1969.
Glenn married Dorothy Wolf in 1981.
Glenn died on May 18th, 1990 and was buried at Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, Warren County, Illinois.[6][7]
