Biography

U.S. Southern Colonies Project logo
Peter Sharpe was a Maryland colonist.

No birth record for Peter Sharp has been found. He was likely born around 1682 in Calvert or Talbot County. He was son of William Sharp and Elizabeth Thomas and is mentioned in the will of his father who left him land in Talbot County.[1]

Family

No record of Peter's wife could be found and she apparently predeceased him. She was possibly the sister of either Samuel Dickenson or Jonathan Taylor, both of whom are called brother-in-law in Peter's will. His will mentions five sons:

  2. Solomon Sharp b. abt. 1709
  3. Henry Sharp b. abt. 1711
  4. Samuel Sharp b. abt. 1713
  5. Isaac Sharp b. abt. 1715
