Biography

Roy was born in 1891. He worked as a carpenter, and married Mamie Kimball on March 28, 1910.^[1] The 1910 census lists them as married and boarding in the home of Lacey Sharpe of Belmont Road, Alamance County, North Carolina.^[2] On his draft registration card, Roy is listed as "tall" with a "stout" build, with blue eyes and dark hair. He also claimed his wife and mother as his dependents, and he was a "rheumatic."^[3] He signed his name on the draft registration car as "Sharp." Roy died at home, five months short of his 50th birthday, and is buried at Bellemont United Methodist Church.^[4][5]
