Philip Shaver served with Pennsylvania Line during the American Revolution.

Philip Shaver, whose last name was alternatively spelled as Schaeffer and Schafer, was born around 1762 in Vienna, Austria. He was the son of Georg Peter Schafer and Anna Catharina (Ybe) Schafer.

During the Revolutionary War, Philip served in the Pennsylvania Line, demonstrating his dedication to the cause of American independence.

By 1793, Philip had established himself in Knowlton Township, Sussex County, New Jersey, as evidenced by his appearance on the local tax list.

In 1800, Philip resided in Hamilton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, where he likely continued his pursuits and contributed to his community.

The 1810 census records find Philip living in Kingston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, indicating another move within the region.

By 1820, Philip had settled in Dallas Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, where he likely spent his remaining years.

Philip Shaver passed away on November 7, 1826, in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. His final resting place is at Shaver Cemetery in Dallas, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, where he lies in eternal repose, surrounded by the serene landscapes of his adopted homeland.
