Biography

From a genealogy by Dan Laurence (cited below):

"Richard Shaw (1673-1729), of Balinderry, Co. Tipperary, b. 1693, eldest son of William and Elizabeth Shaw, pre-deceased his father; m. in January 1696 Judith Briscoe, dau. of Edward Briscoe of Timakilly, County Kilkenny.

They had at least six sons and three daughters:

  1. Unnamed Shaw
  2. Robert Shaw (1698 - 1758) who died at Sandpitts, County Kilkenny
  3. Edward Shaw
  4. Richard Shaw Jr., who died 1789 at Ballyneal, Figlash, County Tipperary
  5. Roger Shaw, who died 1771 at Ballimeale, County Waterford
  6. John Shaw, who died at Ballinderry, County Tipperary
  7. Charles Shaw, who married Rebecca Markham and died about September 1770 at Clonmel
  8. Anne Shaw, who married William Shaw, and died at Figlash, County Tipperary
  9. William Shaw,
  10. Grace Shaw, who married John Bagwell and lived at Clonmel, and
  11. Unknown Shaw, who married to Richard Duckett of Whitestown, County Waterford
