Note N11872Obituary in Jonesboro Sun. Apr 2, 1969 - George Leonard Sheets, 77 of Trumann,
Route 3 died Monday night at Newport Hospital in Newport. Born
in Bloomfield, IN, he was a member of the Church of Christ, a retired farmer
and a Truman resident for the past 50 years. Survivors include three daughters,
Mrs. Fay Johnson of Pocahontas, Mrs. Pearl Blansett of Lincoln CA,
Mrs. Alice McCain of Paragould; six sons Ray Sheets of Glennville, MO,
Joe Sheets, of Blytheville, John Sheets stationed with the US Army in Denver,
CO, Ardell Sheets of Jonesboro, Don Sheets stationed with the US Army
at Fort Hood TX, Frank Sheets of Trumann; two stepsons, Walter E. Sheets and
Bill Joe Wadlington both of Trumann, one sister Mrs. Mary Scott of Benton
Harbor, MI; one brother Chester Sheets of Michigan City, IN, 33 grandchildren
10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Thompson
chapel with Adrian Deham officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery
near Jonesboro under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.
