Clara was born in 1866. At earliest record she is on the 1870 federal census in Franklin County, Mississippi with inferred mother Lildy Shelly. [1] "Clarisa" married Jesse Pitts, 1878, Yalobusha County, Mississippi. [2] In 1880 they are recorded on the federal census in Yalobusha County.[3]
