John Sherlock was born to unknown parents, likely in England, before 1635.[1] John paid taxes in Lancaster County, Virginia Colony, based on his labor force. The county assessed him for two tithables, 7 Dec 1655,[2] and again for two tithables, 5 Nov 1656.[3]
↑ He would have been at least 21 in 1655 when he was assessed for taxes.
