Robert was born in 1561. He was the son of Henry Sherman and Agnes Butter.

Robert Sherman was baptized at Dedham 6 February 1559/60. ^[1] He was the son of Henry Sherman the elder and his wife Agnes.

He was educated at Cambridge University, and became a fellow of t4he College of Physicians in 1599. ^[1]

1583 First Marriage: Barbara Browne

He married first in Dedham 9 December 1583 Barbara Browne, who was baptized in Dedham 1 April 1561, daugfhter of Martin and Katherine (Reynolds)(Warner) Browne. ^[1]

1597 Second Marriage: Bridget Jenney

He married secondly, shortly after 4 July 1597 Bridget Jenney, daughter of Francis and Margaret (Peyton) Jenney. ^[1]
