Raymond O. Shippee Sr., 73, ... , of Brewster, Mass., formerly of Danbury, died at his "winter" home in Florida on October 22, 2005. Ray was born in Providence, R.I., May 3, 1932. He met his wife of 51 years while serving with the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He and Barbara raised their family in Danbury then moved to Cape Cod, Mass., where he enjoyed gardening and landscaping and doing crossword puzzles. Most of all he loved his wife, his children and his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters; a son, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Frennette and Cleo Mitchell. Private funeral services will be held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held on Cape Cod at a later date. [1]
