Elijah Shockley was born in 1788, in Worcester county, Maryland, a son of Solomon Shockley, who was a veteran of the American Revolutionary War.
Solomon is honored by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as Ancestor #A104156. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of his son, Elijah Shockley, who married Margaret Givan. [1]
On March 13, 1821, in Worcester county, Maryland, Elijah married Margaret Givan. [2] Elijah and Margaret are found on the United States Census of 1850, living in Worcester Parish, Worcester county, Maryland, with eight children: [3]
