Biography
1566 - John Shortt's family were from Ashley in Staffordshire, which was where he most likely was born. The Visitation of London tree shows him as a Merchant.[1]
1616 -He passed away in 1616.[2] His will describes him as an Ironmonger, (P.A.B. St Catherine Cree Church) London 93 Cope Street[3] The Will of his mother in law of 1637[4] Thomasine Owfield (nee Moore) mentions John Shortt her son in law as being deceased and this will mentions his children.
There are "Y" DNA matches between two individuals that tested from the USA who are descendants of William Short and three descendants from Ireland who are descendants of John Shortt. [5] Further testing of male Short family of Lineage VII would be most beneficial.
