Biography

John William Shulsen was born on 22 November 1871 in West Jordan, Salt Lake, Utah Territory, the son of Andrew Shulsen and Hannah Johnson.[1]

He married Annie Hanna Larsson (1873-1950), daughter of Per Larsson and Karna Nilsdotter, on 28 January 1892 in Salt Lake City, Utah.[2] They had the following known children:

  1. Olive Pearl (Shulsen) O'Connor (1892-1974)
  2. John William Shulsen (1899-1981)

They were divorced in 1906.[3][4]

John and Martha Ann Hoffman were married on 21 September 1907 in Tuppers Plains, Meigs, Ohio, United States.[5] [6] [7] Their children were:

  1. Lucile Dove (Shulsen) Kersey (1908-1933)
  2. Leonard Donald Shulsen (1909-1997)
  3. Lula Dorothea (Shulsen) Ferney (1911–2003)

Soon after their marriage, they moved to Jerome, Idaho, where they remained. They had divorced by 1915, when she remarried. The children were living with him in 1920.[8]

John died of Rocky Mountain spotted fever on 28 April 1942 in Gooding, Gooding, Idaho, United States, aged 70. He was buried in Jerome Cemetery, Jerome, Jerome County, Idaho.[9][10] [1][11]
