Andrew married Mary "Polly" Louvina Cruse on December 23, 1844 in Rowan County, North Carolina. [2]
Together they had at least ten known children:

Andrew Shuping passed away on April 3, 1897 in Rowan County, North Carolina.
His interment was at Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Franklin (Salisbury), Rowan County, North Carolina.[3]
On April 10, 1897 the Superior Court accepted a petition from two of his sons (executors of his estate) to allow for the "License to Sell his Personal Property for Cash".[4]
