Robert Sickler was married to my aunt, Lena Marie(Brown)Sickler. At one time they lived just down the street from me in Thornton, CO. They had a mobile home at that time. I was there the day that Bob(Robert) died. He died in the bathroom at his home. Lena(Marie) as we called her, was sleeping in the back bedroom of their home. Uncle Bob had went into the bathroom and when he died he was wedged against the bathroom door. My fathert, Roy Brown, Marie's brother was called. They lived about 7 blocks from Bob and Marie. Roy was my father. They called 911, but the bathroom door was wedged shut with Uncle Bob laying against it. By the time the firemen and my father got the door open, Uncle Bob was already stiff. How long he had been dead in the bathroom no one knows.

Vina Sickler(Grandma Sickler) as we called her was a wonderful woman. I was just a child, but I do remember going to Big Elk Meadows to see her and Grandpa Sickler. He was always in bed. I don't think we ever saw him out of bed. My little brother, Ronnie Brown especially liked going to see the Sicklers because he loved her "pumpkin pie". I don't remember a whole lot about Grandpa Sickler.
