Maria (or Mary) was born in 1876 in Scott County, MN, the daughter of immigrants Michael (from _____ )and Gertrude (Schiltz) Simmer (from Luxembourg). [1]
In 1896, in Ramsey County, MN, Mary wed Joseph Luksik, who was also from Scott County. [2]
In 1900, Joseph and Mary had two children, Eddie and Ida, and were living in the village of Olivia in Renville County, MN, where Joseph worked as a liquor dealer. [3] By 1910, the family had another child, Beatrice, and had moved to Brown County, MN, where Joseph ran a saloon in Comfrey. [4] Joseph died in 1915.
In 1930, Mary was living in Comfrey with her mother Gertrude and her daughters Ida and Beatrice. Her listed occupation was that of proprietress of a general store, while the daughters worked as salesladies. [5]
Mary passed away in 1939. [6] She is buried in St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery in Comfrey, Minnesota. [7]
