Kate was born in 1856[1]Richard SimmonsJane Rowe She was living with her parents and siblings in 1861[2] She was living with her parents and sister in 1871[3]
In May 1872 Kate and her sister Ellen sailed on the Silver Eagle as assisted migrants to NSW, Austalia. Kate was 18 and Ellen was 24. Their older sister, Emma Caroline, had sailed for NSW, Australia in December 1870 on the Sobraon.
She was married in NZ in 1872 but we have no record of her sailing to NZ. [1]
