Jean Baptiste Simon is a descendant of an Acadian

Jean Baptiste Simon, a son of Jean Baptiste Simon and Marie Magdeleine Aucoin, was born about 1790 in Spanish colonial Louisiana.

He was young, just about twenty years old, when he married Francoise Trahan in St. Martinville, Louisiana in 1810.[1]

Francoise died in 1816,[4] and Jean Baptiste remarried to Celestine Granger in St. Martinville, Louisiana in 1817.[5]

In 1850 they resided in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, with their four youngest children counted at home.[16]

Jean Baptiste Simon died at an unknown date sometime after the census of 1850.
