Biography

Ernestine was born in 1839.

On 4 July 1870, M. and Ernstein Manheim and their children Julius, Mollie, Lenia, and Hannah, as well as baker Phillip Simmons lived in DuQuoin, Perry County, Illinois. Mark was a tailor and Ernestine was keeping house. They owned $700 in real estate.^[1]

In June 1880, M. and Einstein Manheim and their children Julius, Mollie, Lillie, Hannah, Herman, Benny, Sarah, Alex, and Becca lived in Marshall, Saline County, Missouri. He was a tailor, his wife was keeping house, and Julius was clerking in a store.^[2]

On 5 June 1900, Mark and Ernestine Manheim and their children Julius, Sarah, and Rachel lived at 4103 Delmar Bl. in St. Louis, Missouri. Marj was a tailor, Julius was a notions storekeeper, and Sarah and Rachel were saleswomen.^[3]

On 27 April 1910, Ernestine and her children Julius and Rachel lived at 1736 Missouri Avenue in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. She reported she had been the mother of nine children with six living. Julius was a dry goods merchant.^[4]

On 12 January 1920, Ernestine lived with her son Julius, daughter Sarah Morris, son-in-law Evertt Sachs, and daughter Lillian Manheim at 2821 Tracy Avenue in Kansas City.^[5]

On 7 May 1930, Ernestine and her daughter Lillian M. Sachs lived in the Family Hotel in Kansas City.^[6]

Ernestine died from senility and arterio sclerosis on 4 December 1933 in Kansas City.^[7] She was buried in the Sheffield Cemetery in Kansas City.^[8]
