Rachel was born in 1822. She was the daughter of Avington Simpson and Lucinda Payne.

She died on the 7th of October 1883 in Callao, Macon, Missouri and be buried in the Old Callao Cemetery[2]

CALLAO ITEMS[11]

Died-Sunday evening, Oct. 7th, 1883, Rachel, wife of Judge I. W. Paine, aged 61 years. She had been sick for 18 days with typhoid fever; her funeral was preached at the M. E. Church Tuesday by Rev H. R. Crockett of Macon City; her remains were interred in Callao Cemetery. Mrs. Paine was a member of the C. P. Church. A host of friends and relatives sympathize with the bereaved husband in this his sad bereavement.
