Biography
Marriage 1847 Kirby Misperton
Wiiliam Wray married Sarah Simpson in Kirby Misperton near Pickering, North Yorkshire 1847 [1] [2]
1851 census aged 28, with husband and three children. 1861 census aged 38, with husband and eight children. 1871 census aged 48, widow, licensed victualler, living at Black Bull, Finkle Street, St Michael, Malton, with seven children, a domestic servant, a groom and a boarder. 1881 census aged 56, status given as married, (evidently married for second time now Sarah Holt), housekeeper, mother to Betsy Wray, at New Malton Yorks.
The 1881 census entry suggests that she remarried after the death of her husband William. However, there is no marriage registration for "second" marriage between 1871 and 1881 but there is a death registration for Sarah Wray at Malton 1Q 1886, aged 63.
