George then married Maggie Elizabeth Austin on March 9, 1945 in Tazewell, Virginia, United States.[9]
George died on 3 January 1954, in Bluefield, Mercer, West Virginia, United States, at the age of 74,[10] and was buried in Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery, Tazewell, Tazewell, Virginia, United States.[11]
