Born about 1758, Alexander married Janet Gall about 1780. They ran a family farm at Keilhill, now a hamlet on A947 about five km south of Banff.
Their seven boys and four girls were all baptised at King Edward parish in Aberdeenshire, as listed in a search of Scotlands People.
Alex passed away before 1815, as indicated on the marriage record of his daughter Susanna.
