Biography
In the 1841 census Mary (age 7) was with her parents Robert and Mary in Penrith, Cumberland, England.[1]
In the 1851 census Mary (single age 18) was the niece of George Simpson an Innkeeper in Main Street, Keswick, Cumberland, England. This would make George, the brother of her father Robert.[2]
In the 1861 census Mary (single age 29) was a Bobbin WInder, the lodger of a widow Mary Wise and her unmarried daughter, Jane Carlyle a (Power Loom Weaver) in Rickergate, Cumberland, England.[3]
