Biography
Janet Simpson is conjectured to have been born in early 1745 to parents William Simpson anfd Clementina Ramsay. She was baptized on 23 Mar 1745 in Aberdeen[1] The register records that William was a merchant. The marriage was solemnized by Mr Alexr. Keith, and the witnesses included Baillie Gordon. Janet had siblings Livingston (baptized 28 Apr 1742[2]) and Peter (baptized 12 May 1746[3]).
Janet married George Wilson, merchant of Aberdeen, on 7 Oct 1765 in Aberdeeen[4]. The Cautioners were respectively for the groom and for the bride: James Riddoch one of the ministers of St. Paul's Chapel, William Durward, merchant in Aberdeen. (The couple paid to the poor £2.10)
Janet was aged 20 years, and George was aged 45 years. They appear not to have had any children.
It is unknown when and where Janet died and was buried.
