Alonzo, age 27 (about 1835) enlisted on 1 Feb 1862 in the United States Army during the Civil War. He joined Company I, 12th Regiment, Michigan Infantry as a substitute for Israel M. Allen.[1]
Private Alonzo Sircho (aka Sischo) served at the Battle of Shiloh and died on 18 May 1862 as a result of disease at Pittsburg Landing, Hardin, Tennessee. He was initially buried in Shiloh Battlefield or a hospital cemetery and later reinterred at Shiloh National Cemetery.[2]
