Robert was born April 4, 1900 in Bibb County, Georgia, United States. He was a son of Robert Henry Sissons and Mary B. Little.

Robert was a Sergeant in the US Army during World War II. He enlisted on August 14, 1942 and was discharged on May 23, 1945.

Robert passed away on September 30, 1965 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas and was laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia, United States.
