Biography

She married Elkanah Bannister on 16 February 1858 at Toodyay.[1] They did not have any children together in the colony.

The Bicentennial Dictionary of Western Australians claims Mary was then in a relationship with Michael McKnight and then married Edward Bailey in 1870, but this is contradicted elsewhere in the document in the Michael/Patrick McKnight's entry and no marriage has been found for her to Edward Bailey.

Despite his unusual name, Elkanah has not been traced after his marriage.
