Peru Couple Marks Golden Anniversary, 1961

PERU -- Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Skinner recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home 643 Main street with a family dinner.

Their children presented them with gifts and golden wedding bands. Both are life residents of Cass and Miami counties.

The occasion is also in honor of the thirtieth anniversary of their oldest daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Harry (Thelma) Culp, of Fulton; the 11th anniversary of their oldest granddaughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Wanda) Martin, of Lima, Ohio, and the second anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Joyce) Johnson, of Fulton.

Elmer Skinner, son of the late Arthur and Melinda (Avilborn) Skinner and the Former Frances Malott, daughter of he late William and Catherine (Smith) Malott, were united in marriage February 5, 1911, at the home of the bride's parents near Peru, with Rev. McCoy officiating.

The Skinners have four other children: Mrs. Ira (Delcie) Shields and Basil, both of route 5, Logansport; Ruby Bean p, of Lebanon; and Freida Skinner, at home. There are 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.^[1]
