Ruby Myrtle Skyring was born on 14 November 1900 in the Colony of Queensland, daughter of Albert Skyring (1874–1959) and Florrie Hartley (1874–1953).^[1]

Ruby (32) and Bertie Carine Gelling (28) were married in 16 December 1933 ^[2]. Bertie was born on 11 July 1904 in Queensland, Australia. He was the son of John Philip Gelling and Elizabeth Ann (Carine) Gelling.

Ruby died on 20 April 1978 in New South Wales, Australia, aged 77 ^[3]. She is commemorated at Mount Thompson Memorial Gardens and Crematorium, Holland Park West, Brisbane City, Queensland, Australia (plot: Columbarium 34-Section 1).^[4]
