Daniel was born about 1831 in Georgia. This reported date is "too close" to that reported for sister Kesiah, and thus there might be an egregious error here, unless these are twins with misreported dates. His middle name is a subject of debate, with indeterminate initials clerically written as P. or T. Most appear to compare to other uses of P in the documents.
Another descendant/genealogist, Claude Bowman Slaton, names him as Daniel Thomas Slaton married to a Walters, but the original mss of the marriage record needs to be consulted, as the clerical copy in the marriage book appears to read as Daniel P Slaton to Mary Ann Walters. [1]
All of his identifiable census as head of household is in Banks County, Georgia.

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Daniel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Daniel:
