1900 Census In the 1900 census Jennie (age 11) was the daughter of John and Sue Smith in Lexington, Fayette, Kentucky, United States. Her father was a laborer and her mother was a washerwoman. [3]

Jennie (age 21), daughter of John Smith & Susie Thomas, married Henry Brown (age 24) on 15 June 1909 in Hamilton, Ohio, United States.[4]
1910 Census In the 1910 census Jennie (age 20) and Henry Brown were the married roomers of Joe M Smith in Cleveland Ward 12, Cuyahoga, Ohio, United States. They did not at this point have any children. [5]
It is possible that her husband died in 1911. However more research on his is needed. Henry was mentioned on a memorial in Milheim Cemetery, Millheim, Summit County, Ohio, United States with a death date of 25 January 1911.[6]
In Jennie's obituary it states that she and George Kerr celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1966. It can be assumed that she married George Kerr in 1916, most likely in Ohio, where she was already living.
No record of Jennie or George Kerr is found (to date) in the 1920 Census.
1930 Census In the 1930 census Jennie (age 40) was the wife of George N Kerr in Twinsburg, Summit, Ohio, United States. She was working as a cook for a private family. [7]

Twinsburg — Service for Mrs. Jennie Mae Kerr, 81, of 8726 Hadden Rd., will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Mount Olive Baptist Church. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Kerr died Thursday in Bedford Municipal Hospital after a long illness. Born in Lexington, KY., she had lived in the Twinsburg area for 41 years.
A member of the Mount Olive baptist church, she was active in the church’s Pastor’s Aid Society, Missionary Society and Chairman of the Woman’s Day Committee. She was also a member of the Twinsburg Golden Agers Club.
Mrs. Kerr and her husband George celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1966.
Besides her husband she leaves two sons, Charles, of Cleveland, and Army Maj. William, of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Sanders, a member of the Twinsburg Board of Education; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Martemus, Cleveland; 11 grand children and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Boyd Funeral home, Cleveland.
Jennie's memorial is in Crown Hill Cemetery and Mausoleum, Twinsburg, Summit County, Ohio, United States with a death date of 21 October 1971. She is buried next to her husband George Henry Kerr.[9]
