Mr. Smith, age 73, passed away Sunday at Gerber Memorial Hospital, Fremont. He was born Oct. 17, 1911 in Leavitt Twp., Oceana County, the son of John F. & Velda R. (Rumsey) Smith. On August 27, 1949 he joined Donna M. Recob in marriage at Ferry. He was employed at Teledyne Continental Motors in Muskegon for 29 years until his retirement in January 1972. Survivors include his wife, Donna; 4 sons, Gene at Home, Richard, George and Jerry, all of Hesperia; 2 daughters, Linda McKinnon & Shirley Whidden of Hesperia; 1 brother Cecil Smith of Pentwater; 5 sisters, Cora Belle Buozis of Walkerville, Lillah Payne, Verna Strait, Thelma Conroy & Charlene Myson, all of Muskegon; 42 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 3 aunts; several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Raymond Funeral Home, Hesperia with Pastor E. B. Woirol officiating. Interment will following in West Hesperia Cemetery. Friends may call at the Raymond Funeral Home, Hesperia after 7 p.m. tonight.
