The 1871 English Census shows the Winborn (Windbourne) household living at Bestbeech Hill Farm in the Parish of Wadhurst, Sussex, England. Thomas (identified as Arthur) is a blacksmith and the household identifies children Ellen aged 6, Thomas aged 3 and Charles aged 2. Ellen is listed under the family name of Windbourne (sic). [3]
In the 1881 English Census the Winborn (Winbourne) household is living at 10 Crystal Square, in the Parish of St Mary Magdelen's, Hastings, Sussex. Thomas is recorded as a blacksmith journeyman, and his household with his wife Fanny comprises children Ellen aged 16 a general servant, Thomas age 13, Charles age 12, Margaret age 9, Walter age 7, Thomas age 4, Alice age 3 and Lucy age 1. They have a visitor Sarah Smith, aged 20 a Cook domestic. Ellen is listed under the name of Winbourne (sic).[4]
Nothing further is known of Ellen after the 1881 English Census.
