Biography
John was born about 1814. He was the son of Benjamin Smith and Abigail Prentice. He passed away in 1835 at the age of 21. His death was reported in the “Suffolk Chronicle”.
Research Notes
A copy of John’s obituary together with a lock of his hair has passed down through a family in the United States of America. They are descended from Philip Smith (abt.1790-) who migrated from County Cavan in Ireland to Newark, New Jersey. It is not yet clear how the two families are connected.
