James M Smith was born on 2 Aug 1827 in Saint Lawrence, Jefferson County, New York to parents .
James married Isabella Bernard on 23 May 1860 in Iowa County, Wisconsin[1] and they had a daughter, who later married Jay H Armstrong in 1886.[2]
He passed away in 1902.
He was buried in Section A, Row 6 of Cole Cemetery in Reedsburg, Wisconsin.[3]
