Biography

Joseph G. Smith, son of Solomon and Enuice (Griswold) Smith, was born on 26 Oct. 1801 in Brookfield, Orange County, Vermont.[1][2]

He married Betsey[2] Cobb, daughter of Seth and Jerusha Cobb.[3]

He was a farmer when he and Betsey appeared on the census of 20 Nov. 1850 at Brookfield, Orange County, Vermont. His mother was living with them.[4]

Joseph died on 10 Feb. 1875 at Waterbury, Washington County, Vermont and was buried at Hope Cemetery, Waterbury, Washington County, Vermont.[1] His memorial has a photo and a link to that of Betsey.[2]
