William Snodgrass is Notable.
William was Mayor of Nelson and a member of the Legislative Council.
William Wallace Snodgrass's birth was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1870 in the Liverpool district.[1]
In the 1871 census Wm Wallace Snodgrass (age 1) was the son of Robert Snodgrass in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.[2]
William married Sara Annie Frankham in 1896.[3]
William was involved in his father's business in Nelson. He was a councillor then the Mayor from 1917-1921.
He was awarded an MBE for his patriotic work during the First World War.
William disappeared on a sea voyage aboard the Arahura from Wellington to Nelson, New Zealand.
