Samuel Snow was born on February 28, 1745 in Harpswell, Cumberland County, Massachusetts Bay Province (Maine District), New England. His parents were Isaac Snow and his wife Apphia (Atwood) Snow. Samuel's Snow lineage goes back to Nicholas Snow who emigrated to Plymouth colony, New England, in 1623; and his wife, Constance (Hopkins) Snow who was a passenger on the Mayflower from England to Plymouth colony in 1620.

On 9 May 1767, Samuel Snow signed his intention to marry Miss Sarah Dean, both of Brunswick, Cumberland County, Maine District, Massachusetts Bay. The couple married on 19 May 1767 in Brunswick, Cumberland, Maine. [1] The couple had a daughter: Mary Snow (b: 5 Feb. 1768). Unfortunately, Sarah (Dean) Snow died shortly after her daughter was born. [2] [3]

On 24 August 1769 in Brunswick, Cumberland, Maine (Massachusetts Bay), New England, widower Samuel Snow married Abigail Jordan. The couple lived briefly in Sagadahoc County, Massachusetts Bay Province (Maine), then returned to Brunswick, Cumberland County, Maine. Samuel Snow was a mariner and commercial Sea Captain. He had served in the American Revolution. He and Abigail (Jordan) Snow had 9 children. [4]

Samuel served during the American Revolution as a Lieutenant from MA.[6]

Captain Samuel Snow died on July 21, 1791 in Brunswick, Cumberland, Maine District, Massachusetts, USA. He was only 46 years old. [7] His wife, Abigail (Jordan) Snow, survived his passing for many years but never remarried. She died at 87 years old in Brunswick, Cumberland, Maine, USA, on January 12, 1836. The couple are buried next to each other in the Marsh Cemetery, Brunswick, Cumberland County, Maine, USA.[8]
