Biography

Mary Katherine Snyder was born on December 14, 1912 in Sunbury, Northumberland, Pennsylvania, USA, to John Harvey Snyder and Ellen Joanna Treon.^[1]

Mary Snyder's birth certificate gives nearly the same information as what is provided at Findagrave, with two exceptions. The spelling of her middle name appears to be Catherine, spelled with a C, on her birth certificate. However, it appears that Mary preferred the spelling, "Katherine", as it's the spelling she appears to have used in her lifetime. One other discrepancy (probably a transcription error, rather than an error on the original document), is that Mary's father's first name was transcribed as "Hawey", instead of "Harvey" John Snyder.^[2]

Mary K. Snyder can be found at the age of 7 on the 1920 US census for ED 86, Lower Augusta, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, along with her parents, John and Ellen Snyder, and her siblings, William P., Ethel M., Thelma E., Charles H., Neta P., and Rebecca L Snyder.

Mary Snyder can be found at the age of 17 on the 1930 US census for Zerbe, ED 85, Northumberland, Pennsylvania, along with her parents, John H and Ellen Snyder, and her siblings, Charles, Rebecca, Neta ("Meta"), and a 9-year-old lodger named John Smith.

Mary Kurrell (transcribed "Rurrell", but corrected in table below), can be found at the age of 27 on the 1940 US census for Ralpho Twp., Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, along with her husband, Frank Kurrell, sons Frank Kurrell, Jr., John Kurrell and 6 month old daughter, Ellen M. Kurrell.

Although the place of her death is not specified, it is likely she died in Pennsylvania, USA, where she was buried.
