Biography

Samuel was born on August 23, 1905 in Grygla, Minnesota.^[1]

In the 1910 census Sam (age 4) was the son of Knut Sardal in Valley, Marshall, Minnesota.^[2]

In the 1920 census Sam (age 14) was the son of Knut Sardal in Valley, Marshall, Minnesota.^[3]

Sam married Evelyn Engstrom on April 28, 1928.^[4] They had three children together before Evelyn died in 1934.

In the 1930 census Sam (age 24), mill hand, was the married head of household in Marenisco, Gogebic, Michigan.^[5]

After Evelyn's death from tuberculosis, Sam remarried. His second wife was Gertrude Anderson and they married at some point soon after Evelyn's passing. They had at least seven children together.

In the 1940 census Sam (age 34), lumber piler, was the married head of household in Marenisco, Gogebic, Michigan.^[6]

In the 1950 census Sam (age 44), laborer, was the married head of household in Marenisco, Gogebic, Michigan.^[7]

Sam died (age 80) on August 1, 1986 in Bessemer, Michigan.^[8]
