Biography

Jesse was born in 1823. The specific day of 31 Mar is given on several sites, but with no source.

Jesse married Lovinia Masterman on 7 September 1845 in Weld, Franklin, Maine, United States.^[1] She lived only until 1949^[2] and Jesse married Eleanor Brown on 22 September 1850 in Mount Vernon, Kennebec, Maine, United States.^[3]

They moved to Minnesota, appearing in the 1857 territorial census.^[4]

There was apparently a daughter Frances in 1847 (sources needed) but son Francis appears in 1857, so there is probably some error. William is probably Jesse's younger brother, but relationships were not recorded.

Minnesota was a state in 1860, and the family was recorded again, but with only Jesse, Ellen, Francis, Osborn, and Winfield.^[5] Only the twins remain in 1870 , but Jesse's mother Rebecca (66, Maine) has joined them.^[6]

Ellen apparently died in 1870, and Jesse married Rachel A. Michener on 17 October 1871 in Fillmore, Minnesota, United States.^[7] They had children, as shown in the 1880 census.^[8]

One more daughter was born to Jesse and Rachal in 1884, unnamed on the record.^[9]

Jesse H. Soule died in Grant, Minnesota in 1893.^{[10] [11]}
