Trevor Lloyd Blunden Soutry was born on about 23 March 1878. He was the younger son of Jean "John" Soutry and Rebecca Andrews Blunden.
His father Jean passed away on 25 July 1888. His older brother Maunsell died on 13 October 1898 at about age 34, due to Tuberculosis. Two years later, his unmarried sister Ruby passed away in London, England on 12 October 1900, aged 24.
Trevor fought in the 2nd Anglo-Boer War, where he was mentioned in despatches several times.
In 1906 he was a Lieutenant with the Royal Irish Rifles when he was seconded for service as an Adjutant of Volunteers (Liverpool Rifles).
His mother Rebecca passed away on 24 February 1907 in Hampshire, England.
Five months later he married Muriel Georgiana Rachel Claire Harrison (the eldest daughter of William Henry Harrison) on 9 July 1907 at Folkestone, Kent, England[1]. Due to his mother's recent passing, their wedding was celebrated very quietly.

In 1918 he held the rank of Brevet-Lieutenant Colonel with the Royal Irish Rifles. Trevor served in the 1st World War in Flanders, France, and was awarded a Distinguished Service Order.
In 1921, he and his family were living at Paddington, London & Middlesex, England.
Lieutenant-Colonel Trevor Lloyd Blunden Soutry was a retired army officer was residing at the Ilchester Mansions Hotel in St. Petersburg-place, Bayswater, Middlesex when he returned to South Africa. Sadly he died in Cape Town on 10 September 1929 at the age of 51[5]. Cause of Death was recorded as Fractured Skull as the result of a fall. Intended place of burial was at Mowbray.
Just over a month after his death, his widow Muriel died on 12 October 1929 at about age 47.

Probate of his Will was granted on 6 February 1930 at London to his married sister Ethel Adele Wicks and his brother-in-law Dr. Spencer Wicks[7]. His effects were valued at £1214 2s. 3d.
