Biography

Sarah Sparkes was likely born before 1710 (extrapolated from the date of her marriage to Tobias Spoorne).

Sarah Sparkes married Tobias Spoorne at King's Lynn St. John, Norfolk, England, on 2 May, 1727^[1][2].

Sarah and Tobias Spoorne had 4 children:

• Mary, christened 23 November, 1729;
• Elizabeth, christened 9 February 1731;
• John, christened 7 March, 1735; and
• Sarah, christened 2 October, 1739.

Sarah was widowed in June, 1774.

Sarah Sporne, Widow, died in November, 1788, at King's Lynn, Norfolk, England, where she was buried at St. Margaret Church, on 26 November, 1788^[3].

We have a couple of different christenings that could be our Sarah:

• Sarah Spark (her father's name on the actual record looks like it has an S on the end that is almost illegible and was omitted in the transcription of the surname), born to Thos Spark and his wife Sarah and christened on 5 May 1697 at Shipdham, Norfolk (31 km from King's Lynn).
