Biography

James Speir's name and place of birth were indicated by his son Bertrand age 21, born in 1883 in Bay City, Michigan, when he was married to Pearl Carney, age 20, born in 1884 also in Bay City. The wedding took place on August 29, 1904 in Bay City, Michigan. The groom's father's name was James Speir and mother's name is Charlotte Crossy.^[1]

The date of birth for James Speir was estimated at 20 years earlier than his son Bertrand's.

In the 1920 Census, Bertrand Speir indicated that both his father and mother were born in Maine.^[2]
