Spencer Family Bible (photo-copy)- The Holy Bible, published in 1846 by E. Morgan & Co. of Cincinnati. All the early entries are written in the same hand, presumably in 1846 when the bible was purchased.
Suspect Joseph Spencer is the writer and he gives no middle initial or middle name for himself or wife. Joseph Spencer was born Oct 16th A.D. 1790

Joseph SPENCER was born on October 16, 1790, in Kentucky, his father, Edward, was 25 and his mother, Eleanor, was 20. He married Elizabeth Elliston on June 5, 1814, in Pendleton, Kentucky. They had nine children in 21 years. He died on June 29, 1869, in Gallatin, Kentucky, having lived a long life of 78 years.

Marriage bond Document stats : Know all men by,these presents that we Joseph Spencer and Benjamin Ellston-----are held and firmly bound unto the commenwealth of Kentucky in the peral sum of Fifty Pounds current money of Kentucky for the payment of which well and truly be made we and each of us bind ourselves as Heirs do jointly, sevenally and firmly by these presents sealed with our seals are dated this 1st day of June 1814. The condition of the above obligation is such tht whereas the Clerk of the county court of Pendleton hath (by his deputy) this day issued a Liscense for the marriage of the above named Joseph Spencer and Elizabeth Ellison--of said county; Now if no lawful cause shall hereafter appear by reason of said License being ipried-- there the above obligation to be void; other wise to remain in full force .
