• The information on Dorinda Sprinkle's Find-a-Grave memorial hints that her mother may have been married with the last name of Danner at some point after Dorinda was born, but Dorinda's father isn't known.^[1] There is a marriage record for William Allgood and Dorinda Danner on 1 May 1876 in Yadkin County, North Carolina. Dorinda is shown w/ a birth year of 1844.^[2]
  • Did her mother actually marry a man named Danner?
  • Did Dorinda adopt her stepfather's last name?
  • Is it a different Dorinda who married William Allgood?
    • Dorinda is shown in the 1880 Census as Dorinda Allgood, married to William Allgood, and her son "J.H. Sprinkle" is listed as William's stepson.^[3]

• The marriage to Henry Shore may be a mistake; however, Dorinda is living in the household of a Rachel Shore, Henry's mother, in 1870. She appears to have a son named John H. Sprinkle.^[4] There are three other children in the household, and it's not clear what their relationships are:

  • I've disconnected her from the incorrect Matlida Sprinkle and found the Matilda Sprinkle who was most likely her mother; although, no birth record has been found yet.
  • Iredell Sprinkle was shown as her brother when she was connected to the wrong mother. What is his relationship??

• In 1850, there is a whole household full of Sprinkles in Surry County, North Carolina. The head of the household is Nancy Sprinkle (see her profile for links to the children in this household), who is 68 years old. It appears that she has three adult daughters living with her: Eda (42), Charity (38), and Matilda (31). There are also seven children ranging in ages from 17 to 2 in the household. It's not clear who is the mother of whom. Everyone in the household was born in North Carolina:^[5]

  • One of the daughters in the Gough family married James Allgood. Was there a relationship between James and Dorinda's husband William?
