Biography

When Elizabeth Rose St. Peter was born on 17 February 1879, ^[1]her father, Thomas St Pierre, was 27, and her mother, Mary Josephine Pommier, was 22. They lived in Kankakee, Illinois with many other French Canadian families. When she was 16 they moved to Currie, Murray, Minnesota and she often traveled to Turton, South Dakota to visit cousins in the Joseph St Peter family. She married Engelbert Klapperich 21 Nov 1899 in Turton and they had ten children together. In the 1930 census she was widowed and farming, with seven children still at home including Leon age 30 to Gerald age 10. She then married Charles Edmond Beetem on 30 May 1941 in Conde, South Dakota, USA. She died three years later on 14 March 1944 in Turton, South Dakota, USA, at the age of 65, and was buried there.^[2]
