Samuel was born July 9, 1836 in Harrison County, Virginia. He was the son of Samuel Stalnaker and Elizabeth McWhorter. He passed away January 1, 1891 in Doddridge County, West Virginia, United States.
He married Sarah Ann Davisson on October 8, 1860 in Harrison County, Virginia.
Burial in January, 1891 was at the Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Harrison County, West Virginia, United States.
