Census 1861 says born Lanton, Northamptonshire

Census 1871 says born Santon, Nottinghamshire

Family research suggests born Lenton, Nottinghamshire, son of Samuel and Sarah Staniforth.

In the Nassington churchyard a grave (seen September 2005) bears the inscription: Sarah, wife of Samuel Staniforth, died 1837 age 63. FreeReg confirms Sarah Staniforth died 2 July 1837. This is in the same graveyard where Sarah Eliza, daughter of Henry, is buried, so quite likely that the Samuel and Sarah cited here, were the parents of Henry. ^[4]
